We’d be lying if we didn’t admit that we’ve had PJ Morton‘s Gumbo Unplugged in heavy rotation since it dropped last week. That’s because Morton — along with pals like BJ The Chicago Kid, Lecrae, The Hamiltones, Yebba and Keyon Harrold — put their whole entire foot in the live recording, leaving listeners feeling like they were witnessing the intimate show live and in-person, even if they weren’t lucky enough to nab tickets for the event. Now comes news that fans will get the chance to check out the Live Show Killer bringing the album to life when he hits the road for the More Gumbo Tour.
The tour officially kicks off today at SXSW in Austin before Morton, who will be joined by singer Brik.Liam for the outing, heads north for Ithaca, New York. From there, the tour will make stops in Kansas City, Missouri; Denver; Salt Lake City; Los Angeles; Oakland; Portland; Dallas; Akron, Ohio and Seoul, South Korea. If your city doesn’t happen to be on the list, have no fear because Morton promises that the list is far from being finalized. He took to social media to assuage his worried fans saying, “Don’t worry if you don’t see your city yet!! More dates coming this week!!!”
While we wait to see what other cities will be added to the tour, you can find venue and ticket info on PJ’s website and check out Gumbo Unplugged to find out what’s in store. Also, be sure to catch up on Houston native Brik.Liam’s music here and here to hear what led Morton to tap him for this international tour in the first place.
