SoulBounce Exclusive: FùNSHO & RFLN Bring The Vibes On 'The Free Love' EP

With artists like GoldLink and Brent Faiyaz graduating from local to national and international stages, it's clear that the DMV's got something to say. The area is fertile ground with talent looking for their big break. Fùnsho and RFLN are in that number, and with the release of their EP The Free Love, they may just have next. The two artists are on the eve of dropping their first project together, and the six-track collection issa vibe.

The Free Love EP is a unique sound and a mood of its own," singer/songwriter/guitarist Fùnsho explains. "It is an auditory picture with colors painted by the lyrics and the distinct style of production. Although it is a short compilation, I think years from now, people will remember this project as a signature moment in the development of mine and RFLN’s sounds and careers.”

The EP opens with the track "Intro," which is more of a spoken word piece that features a female poet by the name of King. "Intro" sets a mellow tone, which continues on the breezy title track that served as the first single. "Viibey Nights" is next up and for anyone needing a '90s R&B fix, this slinky groove will satisfy that jones. The brief piano-led interlude "Towson" follows, and it is the definition of short-but-sweet as it segues into the love letter "Formula." Wrapping things up is the fitting final track "Just Vibe." Fùnsho invites the object of his affection to simply vibe out, which we're pretty sure she's been doing all along listening to this smooth set produced entirely by RFLN (shorthand for Rayy From Last Niight).

The Free Love EP will drop at the stroke of midnight on iTunes and additional digital retailers, but you can get your advance listen right here with SoulBounce's exclusive world premiere. This EP is Fùnsho and RFLN's first collaborative project, and according to Rayy, it won't be their last. “The Free Love EP is a representation of more vibes to come from Fùnsho and I. We hope listeners will enjoy the first wave.”
