Now that the North American leg of Janet Jackson's State Of The World Tour has wrapped, many of its participants are moving on to their next projects. Some of the dancers have made television appearances and even lined up their next gigs, as have some of the musicians. DJ Aktive, the man behind the 1s and 2s for the tour's duration, is using the downtime to get us ready for his upcoming EP The Tour, which is due to drop this spring. The in-demand DJ already gave us a sampling of what to expect from the EP with its Marsha Ambrosius-featuring lead single "90's Love" and now SoulBounce is happy to bring you the exclusive world premiere of the song's brand new video.
Helmed by director James Johnson, Jr., the "90's Love" video is a love letter of sorts to Aktive's hometown of Philadelphia. The clip opens with the DJ in his element at Brewerytown Beats, a Philly record store, where he's digging in the crates. Soon, though, we're shown Marsha, who's shown on a streetside setting as she performs for the camera, giving us all the emotion she can muster as she sings. Her vocals act as the narration for the video, which shows us Aktive walking the streets of Philly and chopping it up with friends and family as well as other elements of life in the city. Even if you've never been to the City of Brotherly Love, the video definitely gives you a feel for what the city has to offer and throws back to a '90s vibe in its presentation, with the song acting as the perfect soundtrack to complement it.
"This is my first single and video," DJ Aktive said about the release. "As a DJ my job is to continue to push the culture forward with great music. I hope you enjoy my first musical offering." After hearing the song and seeing the video, we don't think Aktive has to hope much long as we're pretty much in love with it. You will be too when you press play below.
