As Old Man Winter deals the entire East Coast and Midwest a frigid blow, the City of Miami Gardens has us all looking for plane tickets after the announcement of the artist lineup for their 13th annual Jazz In The Gardens Music Fest. The two-day event will take place on Saturday, March 17th and Sunday, March 18th, and will once again feature an exceptional lineup of R&B, soul, jazz, gospel and hip-hop artists.
Day one of this year’s festival will feature the incomparable Chaka Khan, Motown legend Smokey Robinson, Rock Soul songstress Fantasia and New Orleans’ own Trombone Shorty. On day two, auntie-in-our-head Anita Baker will grace the stage as part of her farewell concert tour series, along with singer Joe and gospel artist Tasha Cobbs Leonard. This year a trio of artists deemed Jazz In The Gardens All-Stars will return to the JITG stage: SoulBounce fave Avery*Sunshine, jazz band Pieces of a Dream and saxophonist Walter Beasley. The lineup also includes something new with JITG Loves The ’90s, a special throwback segment showcasing hip-hop legends Salt-N-Pepa, Kid ‘N Play and Love & Hip Hop Miami star Trick Daddy. Nationally-syndicated radio personality and comedian Rickey Smiley will host the event, which will take place at the Hard Rock Stadium in sunny and vibrant Miami Gardens.
