Adrian Marcel has had a busy year, releasing his debut album GMFU (Got Me F**ked Up) and hitting the promo trail hard. Now that we've received singles "LUVJONES," "Imagination" and "BEATITUP", the Raphael Saadiq protégé has another track and visuals for us to get into before 2018. "CHEVY" is a midtempo ditty, which could easily serve as the soundtrack for a situationship near you. In the single, the Bay Area crooner uses his smooth vocals to talk about his lack of time when it comes to dealing with a significant other.
In the black, white and red visuals, Marcel rides around in his red Chevy, working hard as a mechanic in the spare time that he does have. He schleps across town sporting his signature man bun and thinking about life. "I've been riding in my chevy truck / I'mma slide on you and see what's up / You get mad 'cause I don't call enough / A broke nigga got the time to spend / And I ain't here," he sings in the hook. The track is an easy listen and leaves you pondering your own situation, but overall Marcel's point is that he's just trying to figure it all out.
After releasing GMFU (Got Me F**ked Up), Adrian has spent the majority of the year making sure we don't forget him. He's definitely stayed on our radar, and we look forward to seeing what he delivers in the new year.
