If you've had a chance to check out a The Foreign Exchange show in recent years, then chances are you've already heard the honey-dipped voice of Tamisha Waden. A talented vocalist in her own right, she is getting her chance in the spotlight with the official release of her single, "Good for Me."
On the song, Waden expresses her feelings to a certain guy who has caught her eye and lets him know all the reasons she thinks he'd be a good fit for her. Her rich and vibrant alto is dripping with the confidence of a woman who knows exactly what — and who — she wants. The song harkens back to the R&B sounds of yesterday, complete with live instrumentation and some serious vocal harmonies that add a fullness to the track. That throwback vibe is further emphasized towards the song's end when she throws in a nod to DeBarge's 1982 classic "I Like It" on the song's outro as she sings, "I like your smile, the way you talk / Your eyes, your touch, the way you walk / It's just the little things you do / That make me fall in love with you."
If the song sounds familiar to you, that's because Waden first debuted it back in September with the release of the +FE and Reel People compilation, Hide&Seek. Even amongst the project's 13 tracks, "Good for Me" easily ranked as one of our faves thanks to the simple goodness of it all. As we settle into these cold winter months, the song provides the perfect soundtrack for a cozy night snuggled up with bae. Take it for a spin and see if it doesn't leave you reaching for the phone to schedule some quality time with your special someone. In addition to streaming on Spotify, "Good for Me" is also available on CD Baby and iTunes.
