It's been nearly eight years since we deemed Saunders Sermons Bounce-Worthy, and he continues to prove why as the years go by. His most recent turn finds him mining soulful ground with his band The Timeless Wanderers for brand new track "She Blows My Mind," which is from their upcoming project ALPHA.
"She Blows My Mind" seamlessly mixes jazz, funk, soul and even rock to create a head-nodding vibe on the verse and speaker-rocking chorus. It all kicks off with smooth guitar and drums on the intro, which leads the way for Saunders to deliver a slick opening verse. "She's the only soul that takes my imagination / And lets me share with her," he sings. "She only wants to know my heart / She really loves my soul / So I feel in love." Soon rowdy horns, crashing cymbals and even a little harmonica join the mix as the chorus comes in loud and clear, with Saunders letting it be known that this particular lady blows his mind and knocks his socks off. This juxtaposition of smooth and rough plays throughout as Saunders describes exactly why this particular woman is the one for him.
