Carolyn Malachi was tapped as the opening act for Roy Ayers' two-night stand at Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club, and she rose to the occasion. On Friday, May 26th she graced the stage backed by her band, which included familiar faces Asha Santee from BOOMscat on percussion and DJ RBI on the turntables. Malachi brought her special blend of soul, jazz and hip-hop to vivid life on live renditions of her current single "Summer Cool" and "Blowing Smoke." The audience loved her passion and performance, and she left quite a lasting impression long after she took a bow.
