Stokley Williams Makes Us Want To Get On His 'Level'

We've been wishing for a solo joint from Mint Condition frontman Stokley Williams for decades, but it seems we'll finally get one in 2017.  The singer and R&B vet, who turns the big 5-0 this year, announced his upcoming solo debut, Introducing Stokley, late last month with the premiere of his romantic mid-tempo cut "Level." Now, in advance of  the album's summer bow, Stokley's giving us a video for the infectious song that's sure to make fans of the singer happy.

The singer keeps things pretty simple for the clip. Rather than muddy things with a plot or prominent co-star, the clip focuses more or Stokley himself and his energy. We see the singer lounging in a bohemian-styled space, playing guitar in an artistically lit room and even posted up on a rooftop belting out the song's lyrics. No matter the setting, though, he's on the move. He's constantly dancing, often looking more spry than artists who are just starting out as he bops and grooves to the jam. While that part is entertaining, what's probably going to catch the attention of his fans most is what happens at the video's end. A title card reading "The Morning After" flashes across the screen and then we see Stokley sitting in a chair stirring a cup of tea. Don't worry, though, this isn't a Get Out situation. He speaks somewhat seductively about the cup's contents as the soothing groove swells and he looks slyly at the camera as the scene fades to black. What in the world was that little snippet?! Guess we'll have to wait to see.

Lucky for us, the wait shouldn't be too long. Introducing Stokley is set to arrive on June 23rd, just in time for the summer heat. Prepare yourselves for what Stokley Williams has to offer by checking out the video for "Level" below and let us know if you're as anxious as we are for what's to come.
