Lecrae teamed up with Ty Dolla $ign to give a little honor to God in his latest track "Blessings." The rapper, who has made it his mission to elevate Christian hip-hop, dropped the uptempo track a few months ago and now it gets some wholesome visuals. In the Calmatic-directed video, Lecrae and Ty visit home and chill with family in a Los Angeles neighborhood. Kids run around the yard, girls play double dutch, the older folks play dominoes and everything is right with the world.
The two are posted up in the front of the house for the majority of the video, and Lecrae dons a button-up shirt with an embroidered version of the Last Supper for good measure. Later in the video, they move into the house and get more family time in. "If I ever took a loss, I learned a lesson / I won't ever think I'm better than the next man / I've been down before the come up, I ain't stressin' / Baby I'm too busy countin' all these blessings, blessings," sings Ty on the hook as they sit around the family table eating a hearty meal. Later, the whole family gets their groove on dancing and having a great time with each other.
"Blessings" hails from Lecrae's forthcoming eighth studio album. We last saw Lecrae assisting Lalah Hathaway for her single "Don't Give Up" last month. Now that he's dropping new visuals, perhaps this means we'll get a few more singles from the rapper.
