BJ The Chicago Kid Makes Dysfunction Sound So Sweet On 'Roses'

BJ The Chicago Kid may have gone home empty-handed after last night's GRAMMY Awards, but he's not letting that slow his roll. He has slipped a new song up on SoundCloud named "Roses" that you'd think would be for you and your lover to get into for Valentine's Day, but not so fast.

Instead of getting all lovey dovey or bringing us something new for our GTD playlists, BJTCK sings about his dysfunctional relationship. "Roses" finds BJ complaining about his significant other, but he's all in. He breaks the dichotomy down on the chorus: "Roses pretty red / She love to keep me going, playing with my head / She know a n***a ain't got time for it / Roses pretty red / She love to keep me going, playing with my head / But a n***a in love with it." His girl sounds like a piece of work more so than a keeper, but he loves her for who she is. He's able to look past her issues and faults to see the good in her. Also, that good-good doesn't hurt.

If you've ever been in a relationship (or are in one now) with someone who gets on your last nerve, but you love them all the same, you'll be able to relate to "Roses." The situation might make you shake your head, but get into BJ's sweet crooning on this head-nod worthy R&B track.
