If you have Miami in your travel plans this year, be sure to go in March. The annual Jazz In The Gardens Music Festival is back for its 12th year to entertain music lovers with an all-star lineup of soul, R&B, jazz and gospel. Hosted by funnyman Rickey Smiley, the weekend of Saturday, March 18th and Sunday, March 19th welcomes audiences from across the country to appreciate film, music, art and culture at The Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
The music festival promises a diverse lineup, with songstress Betty Wright kicking off Saturday’s festivities. Will Downing, Chante Moore and Marion Meadows, aka The Jazz In The Gardens All-Stars, will bring their timeless talent to the stage. And just when you think things can’t get hotter, Morris Day & The Time bring the funk, award-winning musician Herbie Hancock gets in the mix and Robin Thicke and Jill Scott close out the rest of the day with soul and R&B.
On Sunday, eclectic jazz singer Esperanza Spalding will grace the lineup with an inspiring performance, while gospel singer Smokie Norful will help you get your praise on. Andra Day brings her velvety vocals to the stage and later The Roots bring hip hop to the table. Since the festival draws to close that night, it’s only right to keep the party going with rappers Common and LL Cool J‘s classic lyrics and infectious energy.
With a love for all arts, festival-goers can also consider attending The Knight Foundation Arts In The Gardens Conference. Focusing on film, music, art and culture, attendees will gain professional development and networking opportunities and can benefit from art exhibits, interactive art experiences, music and poetry contests and more. The two-day festival is a win for anyone who loves music and the arts as a whole.
