John Legend Adds Some Sizzle To Tiësto's 'Summer Nights'

With a massive international following and no shortage of critical acclaim, Dutch DJ/producer Tiësto is a luminary in dance and electronic music. But it was his collaboration with John Legend for a surprising remix of his amorous serenade "All of Me" that earned him his first GRAMMY award. Tiësto's rework further extended the life John's breathtaking ballad by turning it into feel-good dance track. Two years have passed and now the duo aims to recapture the success of their previous alliance with the new song "Summer Nights."

The tune is a mid-tempo banger that is bound to become a staple in clubs all over the world. Layers of synth create a colorful sonic patchwork of sound, incorporating drum rhythms, keyboards and dazzling effects. While certain elements hearken back to the glory days '90s tech house, it feels contemporary rather than dated. John's vocals are a benefit to the crisp production, adding warmth and bit of playful sensuality.

Via press release, Tiësto explains, “I was really excited to work with John again following the huge success we had with my remix of ‘All Of Me.’” For ‘Summer Nights,’ we wanted to make a record that mixed the energy from my club tracks with his amazing soulful take on pop music and I’m really happy with the result. This record is definitely a bit of a musical departure for me but it was important to us that the end result really emphasize John’s funky soul vibe.” We'll fist pump and two-step to that.
