R&B and soul's latest It guy and GRAMMY nominee BJ the Chicago Kid has proven himself to be an amazing performer, moving crowds across the country and touring with the likes of Jill Scott and Luke James. Now he’s about to take the world’s stage as a headliner in support of his breakout album, In My Mind. The Chicago crooner will be hitting a few planes, trains and automobiles for a 38-city world tour this summer.
Beginning June 11th, BJ will be making his way around the world through October, performing on stages in Japan, France and Germany, not to mention the ESSENCE Festival in New Orleans, the Pitchfork Festival in Chicago and a number of venues across the United States. BJ will be accompanied on the tour by Elhae and Tish Hyman in a few select cities.
In addition to hitting the road this summer, BJ also has got another surprise treat to share with the world: a posthumous duet with one of his heroes, the late great Marvin Gaye. The “Woman's World” singer will recreate the '70s hit “What’s Going On” using the original instrumentation. The song will appear on the What’s Going On EP as part of the “Motown: Re-imagined” series, as part of the 45th anniversary celebration of the classic album. Thankfully, no spooky holograms were mentioned as part of the project.
Beyond his incredible talent, BJ the Chicago Kid has established himself as an outstanding live performer and definitely should not be missed if he's coming to a city near you. Take a look at the tour dates below and visit the artist’s website for ticket information.
