A$AP Ferg is mostly known for delivering trap bangers such as "Shabba," "Work" and "New Level." However, on his latest single "Strive," the rapper is experimenting with a different sound and challenging his fans to git up, git out and git something. Of course, he obviously wants them to party and bulls**t a little bit, too, delivering his message over an infectious house beat. He is joined on the track by the legendary Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott, who sounds right at home over the uptempo dance groove.

Produced by DJ Mustard and Stelio Phili, "Strive" takes a few musical cues from old school disco and house music, sampling the 1981 Alicia Myers hit, "I Want To Thank You," while adding a few trap music elements. A$AP delivers an autobiographical verse about his own struggles with striving for more, while being seduced by money, cars and women that the drug game brings. While A$AP keeps it all the way live, he can't hold a candle to the flow and charisma of the OG Missy Elliott who keeps it extra funky. The "WTF"-singer comes off the bench hot and ready to cold rock a party with a flow that is a smooth blend of old school and new school.

With "Strive," A$AP Ferg has delivered a legit party starter. Hit play and a bust a move.
