In a world full of PYTs, emerging artist La Britney hopes to stand out as a multi-talented triple threat. Recognized for her “LaMix” videos, where the diva-in-waiting would sing, dance and recreate beats from her favorite songs using pots, pans and even Doritos (yes, Doritos!), La Britney has already garnered a strong social media buzz. Now the young woman is ready to truly step into the limelight with her first single “How We Do.”
“How We Do” is a trap dance track that features conga drums, hand claps and some pretty familiar electronic flourishes. On the track, La Britney declares her love for someone she feels is the real thing, but suggests keeping things on the low so best friends, busy bodies and haters don’t ruin the good thing they got going.
For the visuals, La Britney struts her stuff through a backdrop of graffiti, flanked by her homegirls/dancers. La Britney and her team keep it poppin’ with some fun choreography you might find your little sister practicing in the mirror. Hopefully she doesn’t try to replicate the ending visual of La Britney poppin' that thang on top of a moving Land Rover. C'mon now, even Ciara had enough sense not to dance on a moving vehicle.
Safety concerns aside, “How We Do” and the accompanying video are both fun and worthy of a listen and watch. While the song or clip probably won’t stay in rotation past the carefree spring and summer days ahead, we have to admit we may have toe tapped or done an eight count or two on the low.
