Remember how we asked a few of our favorite artists to drop new albums this year? Well, it seems that the artists mentioned have been responding favorably, with more than a few promising new sets to come this calendar year. Now we can check off one from that list as the one-and-only Musiq Soulchild is returning to the scene with his latest album, Life On Earth, set to drop this year. And to get us ready for the affair, he's even gifted us with his latest single, "I Do."
If you can't tell from the title, "I Do" aims to be the wedding song of 2016, and unless someone else comes along with another soulful romantic overture, it just might. Musiq is back to form here, shedding his many personas and aiming straight for the heart with tender melodies and heartfelt lyrics. Backed by strains of guitar, organ, a solid bass line and finger snaps, the Philly native sings to his lady love, revealing that though sometimes he can't stand her ways, he most definitely ain't going anywhere. "I don't always understand everything about you / But I know I just can't live without you," he sings on the chorus. While it's definitely not the most romantic of notions, Musiq's honest lyricism and sweet crooning definitely makes this another one to add to his list of amorous jams.
You can stream "I Do" right here, and mark your calendars for Life On Earth's release on April 8th.
