By shocking us with their surprise EP #LiteWaitLife, J*DaVeY reminded us why we love their hypnotic electro-R&B stylings so much. But if you were hoping to listen to the EP stream forever and a day, then we have bad news for you: it's no longer available and won't be available for purchase until January. Bummer, we know. But don't worry, the Cali duo throws us a bone with a visualizer for "Outburst," one of the EP's best bangers.
The visualizer shirks the idea of a traditional video, opting instead for a tripped-out, kaleidoscopic work of art that utilizes photos of the talented twosome. As the music plays, the pictures swirl, forming a pulsing, rotating image that fits the song's vibe. Frequent collaborator Def Sound and Miss Jack Davey's verses, with their distorted vocal effects, feel even more psychedelic here (despite the fact that the photos are actually in black and white), as does Brook D'Leau's already next level production.
Since this was one of our favorite cuts from the EP, we're more than thankful that the pair gave us a way to enjoy the track until #LiteWaitLife's availability. However, if you happen to live in Los Angeles and want to experience it live, the duo's #LiteWaitNite residency at L.A.'s Lyric Theatre continues this Friday (December 4th) and will feature a host of guests, including TiRon & Ayomari, Nia Andrews, Khari Mateen and a DJ set from Quintana. And, as an added bonus, pre-sale purchases of tickets (which can be bought here) will get you a free download card for the EP. Those of us who aren't lucky enough to attend the shows will just have to wait until January 12th to get the EP in our grasps.
