John Legend Sings A Duet With Actual 'Stars'

Thanks to brewery brand Stella Artois, 2015 is not ending without the blessing of new music from John Legend. Of course there was “My Imagination” and that Sam Smith duet earlier this year, but his brand new holiday tune is something spectacular. “Under the Stars” is a magical number that is inspired by and created with the help of the stars in the sky.

Legend linked up with astrophysicist Zoltán Kolláth and managed to record the sound that star’s make when changing brightness and used said recording to create a beautifully dramatic intro to this stellar new ballad. “Here we are under the stars / Heaven is not so far,” John sings. Outside of the soundbites from space, this song has the signature John Legend sound. It’s everything charming and romantic that we expect to hear after the “All of Me” singer sits down at a piano. If nothing else, this sweet song reminded us that Legend’s last album, Love In the Future, was released in 2013, and we’re ready for more music from the soon-to-be father.

Download your own copy of “Under the Stars” off of iTunes and get ready to cuddle up with the one that you love for the rest of this cold holiday season.
