Oh, that Azealia Banks. One minute we're singing the praises of the rapping/singing upstart and her truly incredible talent. The next, we're wishing she and her social media rants would just go away for a while. Luckily, today it's the former. Ms. Banks, in partnership with Fun! Mag, has dropped an unexpected visual for her track "Count Contessa."
The song, which was our first taste from her upcoming mixtape sequel to 2012's Fantasea, is typical Azealia, with the raptress spitting nimble rhymes at breakneck speeds over a dance-y electronic beat. But the video is actually fun. It begins with Azealia walking on a Bali beach with her pet pig in tow. There, she approaches a gold-toothed fortune teller (also Banks) who offers her a reading from the orishas. Azealia asks if she'll find true love and when she gets her answer (spoiler: it's yes), she dances happily on her way. From there, we see AB work it on the beach at night in a black swimsuit with stylish cutouts as she runs through her verses. We also get a few shots of her frollicking with a rather comely playmate as well, but for the most part, the Rony Alwyn-directed is all Azealia, all the time.
You can get a eyeful of AB when you check out the video below. You can also head to Fun Mag! to get an inside look at her Bali visit and a behind-the-scenes peek at the creation of her debut, Broke With Expensive Taste.
