In an age where so much of contemporary R&B is vulgar or sexually explicit, Kindred the Family Soul have long brought love to the forefront. Their love for culture, love for music, love for family and love for each other reigns supreme. The husband and wife duo of Fatin Dantzler and Aja Graydon have played out their love story on wax since their 2003 Hidden Beach debut, Surrender To Love. The parents of six have since released four more albums and become seasoned performers with a devoted following who religiously come out to see their live performances, which are part concert and part comedy show. Aja and Fatin are as entertaining, engaging and endearing as they come.
As Hidden Beach continues to celebrate the label’s 15th anniversary, they’ve compiled a few of Kindred the Family Soul’s greatest hits and fan favorites for Family Treasures: Greatest Hits. The album features 14 tracks, all of which have been remastered for this special collection. Hidden Beach has mined selections from Kindred’s three albums on the label — Surrender To Love, In This Life Together and House of Love — for Family Treasures. Included on this project are popular selections such as “Far Away,” Stars,” “Woman First,” “The Question (Where Would I Be)” and “House of Love.” These songs are the foundation of Kindred the Family Soul’s catalog and were instrumental in defining the Hidden Beach sound.
While we look forward to what the future holds for Kindred the Family Soul, we’ll fondly reminisce about their early years with Family Treasures: Greatest Hits, which will be released on Friday, November 13th.
