Bonjour!

Many years ago, I was an exchange student in Fribourg, Switzerland to perfect my French (which I now speak fluently as a result of that experience). I managed to keep in touch with my host family over the years and a few my "host" siblings have even come to visit my family in North Carolina. However, I've dreamed of the day when my biological parents would meet my Swiss host parents. That day finally came. While my family was on vacation in Paris recently, I convinced them to take a trip to Switzerland for the weekend. Also, along with us for the journey, was my dear friend and fellow recording artist, Geneva Renee.

The Montreux Jazz Festival was still going on, so I decided to take them there for a day. As soon as we arrived at the train station, we bumped into Liv Warfield and one of her supporting vocalists, Ashley Minnieweather. Their warm energy set the pace for our rather magical day. We soaked up the breathtaking scenery, went for a dip in Lake Leman (also known as Lake Geneva) and caught some great live music. The most incredible moment of the weekend was our farewell at the train station with both of my families were expressing how they'd always wanted this moment to happened. As I' interpreted their dialogue back and forth between English and French, I realized that this was one of those moments I've dreamed would materialize and I started crying. Not too long after, they all followed suit as we said our goodbyes. It was truly one of the most emotional and meaningful moments in my life.

Also while in Switzerland, I bumped into a really talented artist and discovered some other great soul music. Take a look!

Au revoir,
