Jill Scott hasn’t stopped promoting her Billboard chart-topping album Woman, and it doesn’t look like she plans on it any time soon. Last night Jill and her stellar band took on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and performed “Run Run Run.” Ms. Scott and the fellas, including SoulBounce friend and fave Farnell Newton on the trumpet, turned the outdoor Samsung stage out with this throwback soul anthem. The drums were on point, the horns were blaring just right, the background singers were going in and Jill was in good voice. It’s great to see Jill continuing to shine. This song is also incredibly fun and could easily fit in as the soundtrack to a retail commercial campaign. Somebody call up Old Navy and get them spinning “Run Run Run” this fall.
