Antonique Smith kicked in the door to 2015 with a GRAMMY nomination and the debut of her new song "Higher" for Madame Noire's Acoustic Melodies. We were impressed with her range and power during the acoustic session and have been patiently waiting on the studio version to add to our playlists. Now the wait is over and the song still resonates.
On "Higher," Smith assures her beau that she doesn't want to change him but she does want to take him to the next level. Her plan to upgrade him sounds sincere, heartfelt and oh-so sweet to our ears. "Higher" is produced by Darryl Farmer and Midi Mafia and written by Smith, Farmer and Mickey Shiloh.
"Higher" is the second single from Antonique Smith's upcoming debut album, Love Is Everything, which is scheduled to finally be released this fall. With so many big names working with Antonique and producing quality music for the songbird, we're looking forward to what else we'll hear on the independent release. While we wait and see, we'll pick up "Higher" on iTunes now and keep an eye out for the music video.
