Chris Turner is a busy man these days. His name has been attached to many projects and artists as of late. But when it all comes down to it, it’s all about his own talent. The crooner showcased that when he took the Highline Ballroom stage as one of two openers for Cali R&B star Goapele.
During his opening stint, he went through a few of his own songs, as well as covers and some of his collaborations with others. The true showstoppers, though, were his cover of Sade‘s “Kiss Of Life” — which can be found on his LOVELife Is A Challenge album — and his performance of one of his tracks with ERIMAJ, “Conflict of a Man.” The first showed just how masterfully he could turn a familiar song into his own. The second showed that he’s been making crowd-pleasing joints for a while now.
And, like any other show he’s done, the crowd definitely ate it up, with many wishing that his set was longer than the allotted time. And while he might’ve been an opening act in this instance, that definitely won’t be the case for too much longer.
