Following the success of his Stevie Wonder tribute and his big single “Girls That Dance,” rising Virginia star Masego has teamed up with brilliant producer Medasin for an impressive new project that they are calling The Pink Polo EP. The EP premiered this week at Billboard and finds these two talents creating the perfect soundtrack to the summer for black millennials to turn up and enjoy.

Similar to the sounds coming out of Soulection, this project blends elements of house, hip hop and soul sounds, and then to top it off Masego blesses track after track with a great helping of saxophone to add an unexpectedly refreshing hint of jazz to the mix. Masego is a jack-of-all-trades and proves that on this delightful musical masterpiece as he finesses the saxophone, showcases his soulful vocals, and has a whole lot of fun by introducing his alter ego Uncle Sego. The young king even spits a few bars on “Throwin’ Shade,” where he comes at the neck of those artists who he feels aren’t putting enough effort into their art. He says that he’s not trying to hear anymore “Drake flows” or “brag raps,” and we can’t even be mad at him for it.

The Pink Polo EP is currently heating up SoundCloud and Bandcamp, and you can stream it or grab your own downloadable copy of the eight-track offering right now.
