Opening up for D'Angelo and The Vanguard on The Second Coming Tour is no short order, but Australia's Meg Mac snagged the coveted position on the U.S. leg and she made quite an impression on the audience at The Fillmore Silver Spring on Thursday, June 25th. Backed by a tight three-piece band, Mac introduced many in attendance to her soulful pop music and surprised everyone with a spirited cover of Bill Withers' "Grandma's Hands." Those unfamiliar with her at the start of her set definitely knew her name by the time she sang her last note.
