In the midst of earning critical praise, racking up music awards and impressing us at every turn, Bounce-Worthy artist Marie Dahlstrom also spent the last few years finishing her academic studies in music. We're starting to suspect the multi-talented Dane may have taken an elective course in prestidigitation while enrolled, because she always seems to have a few tricks up her sleeve.

She already amazed us this year by unveiling her Hans Island collaboration with Mawhs. This is in addition to the veil of secrecy behind her own personal project, also set for release this year. With our attention focused on these two albums, she completed a musical sleight-of-hand right under our noses with her brand new release, "Look the Other Way."

Smoothly produced by rising talent D.K. the Punisher (see Jill Scott's "Fool's Gold"), the song pairs Marie with Brighton-based singer Sophie Faith and draws a bit of inspiration from Brandy and Monica's mega-hit, "The Boy Is Mine." The ladies find themselves in the midst of a love triangle and ponder, "Do I go / Do I stay / Do I look the other way / Or do I leave?" Rather than take a combative/confrontational tone, Dahlstrom and Faith use their delicate, soulful voices for a more introspective approach. The result is a lush, harmonious blend that allows both singers to shine without overshadowing each other.

We're keeping our ear to the ground to update you on Marie's latest projects, so keep it locked to our pages and be sure to follow her on social media. Sophie is making moves herself, collaborating with UK rapper Coops and gearing up for an appearance at Bestival alongside artists like Lianne La Havas, Mark Ronson, Flying Lotus, FKA Twigs, EKKAH and The Jacksons. Head over to Bandcamp to download D.K.'s Float EP and check out his past production work on SoundCloud.
