Having just wrapped their North American tour in promotion of their latest album, Choose Your Weapon, Hiatus Kaiyote is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. To that effect, they've unveiled a new remix to their beautiful groove "Breathing Underwater" done by none other than DJ Spinna.
The tender, tempo-shifting original was already a quick favorite, due in part to the heady combination of the group's instrumentation and Nai Palm's poetic lyrics. Spinna adds his own personal touch to the proceedings for what he dubs as the "Galactic Soul Remix" of the number, bumping up the bpm a few notches, but not so much as to change the track's feel. From there, he adds synth keys, drums and a few flourishes that take the song from a lover's groove to a two-stepping jam in no time flat. What's more, he also adds a few instrumental spots, allowing the groove he's created to breathe just a bit and give all the dancers out there a little something extra to step to.
