Lyfe Jennings Shows Us What 'Pretty Is'

Lyfe Jennings' "Pretty Is" is an ode to hardworking strippers we haven't heard the likes of since Wyclef Jean's "Perfect Gentleman." But the track isn't all about the bounce, as proven by its recent video treatment.

In the clip, a young woman working at Stilletos Gentleman's Club (was there ever a more perfect name for said type of establishment?) gyrates, grinds and works the pole for her male clientele, blowing off would-be suitors who have their interest at, ahem, heart and try to take her home. Instead, she focuses on the cash she counts once her shift is over.

We soon learn the young lady is an aspiring dancer of the professional variety and follow her to an audition for a dance school. But a part of her work life has followed her — one of her customers is on the panel judging her performance. He's also a bit handsy and can't seem to discern the line between her time on and off the clock. While Lyfe's inspirational lyrics play out in the background, she confidently pushes away the jerk, but seems heartbroken that her job lurks in the background and that this man holds her ambitions by a thin string.
