As always, Charlie Wilson puts on a good show. I have been a fan of Charlie’s performances since he upstaged every artist at the BET Awards a few years back. He is a seasoned performer, and I mean that in a good way. Uncle Charlie recently paid a visit to the set of Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote his new album, Forever Charlie. With an assist from his nephew, Snoop D-O-Double G, Wilson rocked the Jimmy Kimmel stage. Charlie took command, matching and exceeding the energy and performing skills of Snoop and other established up-and-coming R&B stars. Snoop, however, was ad-libbing for his life against Wilson’s crooning, saying, “She’s so infectious / She’s dancin reckless / She’s shakin bacon' /GOOD LAWD!!!”
The two definitely have chemistry and respect for each other as artists, and it shows. Plus, Charlie demanded the audience participate and made the closed set feel like a stadium, while the performance still felt intimate. In short, it was everything you'd want in a live performance, and he did not disappoint on this outing.
