Jaden Smith Surprises With A New 'Album'

The Smith children continue to release music. This time around, Jaden Smith drops his three-track set This Is The Album in our laps. The "album" (though really an EP) finds the aspiring rapper honing his flow over hard-hitting, spacey beats provided exclusively by frequent collaborator Daniel D'Artiste, who has worked with both Jaden and Willow Smith. Speaking of Willow, she also shows up here to provide backing vocals on the woozy love song "4 My 1," which finds her older brother spitting slightly nonsensical game to a young tender. Meanwhile, "Weekend in Atlantis" finds Jaden spreading his wings creatively as he raps, sings and even kicks some spoken word over a track that stops and stutters along. But the standout here is the opener, "Scarface," which finds the teenager delivering an impressively nimble flow over a brooding beat adorned with sirens and spacey synth-work.

Jaden also delivered a video for "4 My 1" for his fans (or potential fans). In the dimly lit clip, the youngster flexes in front of projected clouds and frolics in a very emo way around an estate while dressed in all black. It's an interesting clip, to say the least, especially since it seems that it's for what seems to be a love song.

If you're a Jaden fan, then you should by all means check out what Will and Jada's boy has cooked up for your listening pleasure. You can stream This Is The Album and check out the "4 My 1" video right here.
