When we last checked on Andreya Triana she was giving us "Everything" on her last EP and now we're getting a full album. They say what glitters isn't always gold, but Andreya glitters, sparkles and shines in her new album's lead single. On "Gold," Andreya is giving us angry, sultry soul singer realness with the track from her upcoming album, Giants. Over a thumping beat, Andreya delivers powerful vocals, which only get bigger when she's joined by background vocals in the chorus. "It all feels like gold / Gold to me / It might not be diamonds / But it shines for me." The single has an old soul and blues element to it but keeps things modern with the vocals forming a contagious anthem. While we're used to Andreya singing love songs, we welcome this side of her and can't wait to hear more.
While we're only getting a taste of the upcoming album Giants, perhaps we have a hint of the content, knowing that it was produced by Matt Hales, who boasts Paloma Faith and Lianne La Havas in his portfolio.
