While preparing for the birth of her second child, Alicia is still managing to have time to pull out some previously unreleased material from her vault, and this week saw the release of a piano-driven ballad entitled “Somewhere In the City.” This Girl On Fire outtake is classic Alicia Keys. It finds her wailing her beautiful lyrics over the strokes of piano, singing “Everybody knows that love’s the reason we’re here.”
While this sweet number is nothing spectacular, it serves as a great reminder of Alicia’s past quality material and how much the music industry could very well use a new album from the “No One” singer.
