It's been a little over two years since we first crowned Hiatus Kaiyote Bounce-Worthy. Since then, our favorite Aussies have been busy winning the hearts (and ears) of fans around the world, even nabbing themselves a GRAMMY nod for Best R&B Performance in the process. However, for the most part of 2014, things have been somewhat quiet on the homefront, at least in the way of new music. Just when our withdrawal had begun to reach peak levels, the spaced-out soulful quartet is back with not one but two projects.

First up is their EP, By Fire, which is due out on December 2nd, followed by their new full-length studio album, Choose Your Weapon, which is set to drop March 31, 2015. The band took to SoundCloud to announce both projects by leaking a sampler of what's to come. The nearly four minute teaser gets right to the point with a head-nodding intro that gives way to the EP's title track, "By Fire," a funky sounding snippet that showcases the same futuristic soul that we've come to know and love from the group. "Laputa" and "Molasses" follow, along with a brief taste of what to expect from the Choose Your Weapon with "Atari." Though each snippet is brief, they each provide lead singer Nai Palm and fellow cohorts Paul Bender, Perrin Moss and Simon Mavin with just enough room to stoke the flames of anticipation. Whether or not this is enough to stave off those withdrawal symptoms that we've been suffering from, knowing that new music is just around the corner certainly takes the edge off.
