I'm drawn to artists who use their voices and music to convey their own unique and personal stories rather than trying to sound like everyone else in the game. Luckily, SoulBounce is committed to highlighting authentic artists who are creating great music that should be heard, such as the multi-talented Rippy Austin. Earlier this year, the young rapper/singer released his first full-length album The Journey, a soulful excursion into Austin's thoughts and experiences as he pursues his dreams.
As a follow up to the album, Austin recently released "Questions," a new bonus song on the record co-produced by Robert Casey. The song is an honest and inspiring reflection about Austin's steady persistence in creating his own path in music as well as life. The low-fi electronic music harmonizes well with Austin's laid-back Cali rhymes. Towards the end of the song, Austin fluidly transitions from rapping to singing a soulful melody as the beat fades. The music video, directed by Riley Robbins, perfectly matches the spacey sound of the song as it is filled with dope colors and atmospheric visuals while Austin vibes out.
