They say you never forget your first time. That should hold true for the soulful and Bounce-Worthy newcomer Kandace Springs, who made her national television debut on Late Show with David Letterman this past Friday. The talented songstress, who released her self-titled debut EP on September 30th, was there to perform her funky, organ-drenched single "Love Got in the Way" and in the process made a fan of host David Letterman.
Taking the stage behind her trusted Fender Rhodes and wearing a crop top and black leather pants and Timbs, the curly-haired Ms. Springs worked out the audience with her full backing band as she ran through the number with a seasoned tenacity. In fact, the only gripe that I have with the performance is that she remained behind the keys until the very end, when Letterman greeted her. Having seen her perform at a showcase earlier last week, I can attest that Kandace knows how to work a stage, and I only wish America had gotten to see a bit more of that. Luckily for the rest of the country, Kandace will be hitting the road with Chance the Rapper and Ne-Yo later this month.
Until then, get a load of Kandace's performance below and pick up her EP, which is available on iTunes.
