Whenever I'm in my feelings and need some music for the soundtrack, Sade is usually the go to, but Jill Scott is a close second. Jilly from Philly's catalog is peppered with emotive tracks that speak to real-life situations. One that always gets to me is "I Think It's Better" from her debut album, Who Is Jill Scott? - Words and Sounds, Vol. 1. In it, Jill is torn between two beaus and she has finally made her choice, but she has to break it to the one who she's singing to first. "I Think It's Better" is an all-too-brief interlude that segues into the seductive showstopper "He Loves Me (Lyzel In E Flat)."

Over the years, "He Loves Me (Lyzel In E Flat)" has gotten the remix, rework and remake treatment extensively, but "I Think It's Better" has somehow gotten lost in the sauce. Maybe because of its length or because it wasn't a complete song, folks have shied away from it. Well, enter GDNA who decided to take "I Think It's Better" and flesh it out into something fuller with a future soul remix. In his "GDNA (RE)Vision" he loops Jill's vocals and adds electronic elements, such as a drum machine and synths, into the mix to not only make the track longer but to update it for today. The original will always stand tall, but GDNA's fresh coat of future soul paint suits quite nicely.
