When Jordan Rakei appeared seemingly out of no where in mid-2013, his music was a pleasant surprise that had listeners knowing they were on to something special. With his unique tone and soul sensibilities, Rakei's star quickly rose, with festival and supporting slots alongside Robert Glasper and Fat Freddy's Drop. His debut, Frankin's Roomwas a surprise standout of the year with his reggae, soul and funk fusion sounds.

Now Rakei is back and gearing up to release his follow up EP, Groove Curseled by the track "Street Light" featuring vocalist and producer Gwen Bunn. "Street Light" is a soft and subtle number with touches of guitar, percussion and ethereal harmonies that create a surprisingly powerful impact. The union of Rakei and Bunn, both multi-talented individually, equals a double dose of  transcendent soul music that will have listeners intrigued as to what else Rakei will be serving up on his next EP. Luckily, Rakei's Groove Curse is already available for pre-order over at Soul Has No Tempo's Bandcamp and fans of quality future soul sounds need only wait until August 15th to have their curiosity satisfied.
