Over the course of the summer, Dr. Pepper has released original music from artists across all genres through their One of a Kind Studio Sessions series. The sessions recruited diverse talent to produce and perform on a series of EPs that includes four original songs on each. Most recently Dr. Pepper released their On the Rise EP, which features four up-and-coming artists with an unique sound. Jordan Corey is one of the four artists that caught our ears with her smooth track, "The Power."
The Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter delivers a jazzy and soulful performance over melodic keys and percussion. Corey encourages listeners to harness "The Power" within themselves, singing uplifting lyrics such as, "You got the power in you/Like the ocean let it wash over and renew." Amen to that.
Jordan Corey is currently unsigned, but she is quite prolific as a quick trip through her SoundCloud tunes shows. She has already released a soul album, a rock EP and a plethora of covers in the past year alone. Her vocals and songwriting skills demonstrate that she is surely an artist on the rise to watch.
