Banks Is 'Beggin For Thread'

It's no secret that we are big fans of sultry R&B songstress Banks here at SoulBounce, but I just need to address something before diving into her most recent single, "Beggin For Thread."

It seems to be pretty commonplace lately to drip-feed an entire album prior to its release and, for me and I'm sure some of you, this kind of ruins the build up and anticipation of a release. Banks' debut album Goddess is slated to drop September 8th/9th and, so far, we have heard eight out of the 14 tracks (11 out of 18 if you count the Deluxe version). What happened to two or three singles, then the album? Gone are the days where I purchased an album on release day and couldn't wait to sit down and listen to it from start to finish in one sitting. Anyway, rant over.

On to the track itself, "Beggin For Thread" sees the usually dark and mysterious Banks delivering what, for her at least, may be deemed something a little more uptempo and certainly more radio friendly. It lacks the immediacy of tracks like "Before I Ever Met You" and "This Is What It Feels Like," but the Jesse Rogg and Tim Anderson-produced track still packs a punch with a catchy hook and another ice-cool vocal. This may be the song that gets Banks s little more mainstream attention ahead of the release of Goddess, which can only be a good thing.
