We’re still jammin to The Reintroduction of Mumu Fresh mixtape over here at SBHQ. So imagine our surprise today when Miss Fresh herself Maimouna Youssef unveiled her brand new track,“I’m A Woman” co-written by poet Raquel “Ra” Brown and produced by GRAMMY-nominated Stereo Lif.

The jazzy single, with an instrumental arrangement reminiscent of Peggy Lee’s “Fever,” is all sultriness and sass as Maimouna musically describes the magnitude and magnetism of her femininity. Her delivery is so hypnotic that while you’re listening you can almost see her as she “struts through the crowd like the parting of seas.” Then, just when you think you’ve got this woman figured out, she switches it up Mumu Fresh style and proves that there’s more to her than meets the eye.

Get acquainted with the new single right now, and be sure to tune in tongiht as the song makes its debut on the Emmy-award winning TV show, So You Think You Can Dance at 8 pm EST on FOX. We can’t wait to see how the dancers bring this scorcher to life.
