Jennifer Lopez served up ride-or-die chick swag in the speedo-filled clip to "I Luh Ya Papi," but the thematic trend continues (and heads deeper into the gutter) with "First Love," which just got the lyric video treatment. "First Love" follows in the footsteps of singles and album tracks such "Hold You Down," "Stay Together," an un-remixed "Ain't it Funny" and "Baby I Love U!," featuring Lopez caught up in the rapture of love after finding the man of her dreams. "I wish you were my first love," she professes in the chorus, "cuz if you were first baby there would’ve been no second, third or fourth love." And, as mentioned before, more explicit commentary on her physical appreciation for said man fills the bridges and breakdowns.
The grateful ode gets accessorized with an of-the-moment fusion of hip-hop and electronic beats, but like many a J.Lo song, it may be more interesting thanks to her personal life. Is the wished-for first love her current beau Casper Smart? Are previous husbands/boyfriends/boy toys Ojani Noa, Diddy, Cris Judd, Ben Affleck or Marc Anthony part of the lyrical love equation? While those details remain unrevealed, curiosity — moreso than this fairly run-of-the-mill but catchy addition to J.Lo's catalog — may incite hitting the replay button.
