By now, you've most likely heard of the horrifying story of the more than 230 Nigerian schoolgirls abducted almost a month ago. News about the missing girls from the village of Chibok broke on social media through the global #BringBackOurGirls campaign, which exemplifies the power of solidarity and activism through Twitter and other social media platforms. It is good to see that people are doing all that they can to use their voice to bring awareness and attention to the plight of human trafficking and the whereabouts of the girls. One example of an individual using their voice to raise awareness is singer/songwriter Nicholas Ryan Gant, dedicating his song "Girls Cry in the Dark" to the families of the young missing girls. The song first opens with a moving poem written and performed by Nicholas's sister, Gaybrielle LeAnn Gant, before his smooth vocals take the listener on a journey of a girl who is lost but not forsaken. You can listen to Nicholas and Gaybrielle's beautiful message below.
