Bok Bok's 'Foxtrot' Will Get Ya Dancin'

Event Particpant - Performance

With the throwback '80s feel of "Melba's Call," producer Bok Bok tickled our R&B fancy with a little help from up-and-comer Kelela. Now, the producer returns on the solo tip for "Da Foxtrot." The instrumental track doesn't have the same R&B sheen as the first single, but it's sure to be of interest to you anyway. Utilizing a broken, stuttering drum pattern, Bok Bok infuses the intriguing rhythm with keys and synths reminiscent of a slow jam. But this isn't a slow jam, not with all the cuts, stops and starts he throws into the mix and the arresting chanted refrain that ties everything together in a slightly dissonant bow. "Da Foxtrot" and "Melba's Call" will be featured on Bok Bok's upcoming album Your Charizmatic Self , available from his Night Slugs label on May 26th. [H/T: FADER]
