Although its been six years since we first crowned singer/songwriter Rogiérs Bounce-Worthy, it seems that music fans have been waiting even longer for new material following his acclaimed Life Music: All Of It. Save for the teaser he gave us last year for the song "Good to Know You," we've been patiently waiting for his sophomore project, The Shedding, to see the light of day. Well, lucky for us, that day has finally come. Released earlier this month, The Shedding is the result of over two years of recording and development. The eight-track album proves that it was worth the wait thanks to Rogiérs' silky vocals. While stripped-down cuts such as a "Good to Know You" and a remake of Shirley Horn's "Here's to Life" are refreshing, it's the uptempo numbers on which he really shines. "Again," with its tribal drums and "Message to Your People" are two shining standouts that could easily send you to straight to the dance floor.
