Fresh off of a suprise appearance on The Queen Latifah Show along with her family band The Clark Sisters, Jacky Clark Chisolm is stepping out on her own for the first time since the release of her 2005 album Expectancy. With her promising new single “My Season,” Jacky is shaking things up and giving honor to God for a season of peace and prosperity. “He took away all my sins and then he gave me peace within and now my life begins,” she sings confidently. As for the sound of this record, it is laced with very signature and significant elements of something obviously created by the impeccable singer/songwriter/producer that is B. Slade. While Mrs. Clark-Chisolm could have easily taken the traditional gospel route, it’s great to hear her and B. Slade continue to take the risks that The Clark Sisters were known to take back in the day. “My Season” is available via iTunes now, and it comes along with an equally enjoyable b-side record entitled “On My Mind.”
