Can You Decipher Elli Ingram's 'C' Dawha'?

While a host of female vocalists set their sights on the charts for 2014, it seems that British songstress Elli Ingram is just happy to be making the music that she wants to make. Sure her most recent single "When It Was Dark" had traces of Adele, Amy Winehouse and Paloma Faith in the mix  but her past material has shown she is more than comfortable in her own lane. Next week Elli will be releasing The Doghouse, a five-track mini-album that will feature "When It Was Dark" alongside a new track, "C' Dawha." Produced by regular collaborators Felix Joseph and Aston Rudi the track is a moody affair featuring some pretty busy production, but, as always, Elli's vocals shine through. I can't see this one lighting up the charts, but, for fans of this left-field brand of soul/R&B, The Doghouse should definitely provide an interesting listen. On a final note, the track's title is apparently a reference to Elli's "very own language," which explains why we were struggling to decipher the words on the chorus. You can cop a free download of "C' Dawha" via SoundCloud.
