K. Michelle ditched the drama from Love & Hip-Hop and showcased her music on Tuesday night’s Arsenio Hall Show. Performing “Can’t Raise a Man,” K. Michelle closed out the show with a performance that was peaking with passion. From the get-go, K. was reaching into the upper ranges of her voice. The laundry list of “what you ain’t doin’ right” bits gets repeatedly punctuated by her powerful hand motions. Yes, K. Michelle seems convinced she is preaching to a congregation of non-believers who don’t know that they can find better in a potential mate. That conviction, though, is what makes the song performed here strong, fun and a bit redeeming for the diva who deals regularly with drama and Keyshia Cole comparisons. K. proved here that she did deserve to close out the late-night show and will likely get an invitation back in the near future.
