Big Boi Gives Us Something To Remember With 'Objectum Shalamar'

Though we haven't checked in on the last few entries, Big Boi's Mashup Mondays is still going strong. The latest entry in the nine-part series is "Objectum Shalamar." As its title might suggest, it's a mash up of his own "Objectum Sexuality" and Shalamar's seminal classic "A Night to Remember." While pairing the Outkast funkster with the music of the '80s trio isn't too far of a reach, the fact that the two songs blend so seamlessly is music to our ears. Producer Dungeoneze once again manages to take an '80s classic and fuse it perfectly with Big Boi's flow, just as he did with Sade on "CPU 2.0." Even sweeter, Phantogram's Sarah Barthel's soft, subdued vocals offer a nice contrast with the sample of Jody Watley's leads that Dungeoneze utilizes. So far, Big Boi's series is six for six and we're looking forward to what the remaining three Mashup Mondays entries will sound like. While we anticipate what comes next, listen to and download "Objectum Shalamar" and peep its trippy accompanying visuals all right here.
